A PhD position is now available in Centre for Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) at DTU Chemistry within the newly established research initiative Catalysis for Sustainable Energy (CASE). The project concerns the development of new catalytic systems involving alternative solvents for the conversion of various degradation products from biomass into liquid transportation fuels and derived chemicals. The project will involve catalysis, organic synthesis, separation technology and process engineering. The position is available from 1 October 2009 for a highly qualified candidate.
Qualifications
The candidate should have a master's degree in chemistry (cand. scient.) or chemical engineering (cand. scient. eng.) or a similar degree with an equivalent academic level. The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in the Chemistry, Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering PhD programme of DTU.

The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The position is available for a period of 3 years.
