The Centre for Particle Physics Phenomenology, dedicated to the understanding of the origins of bright and dark matter in the universe (CP3-Origins), is one of a new generation of centres of
excellence chosen by the Danish National Research Foundation (DNRF) to receive significant funding for the next 5 + 5 years.

We are pleased to open a four years Assistant Professor position in lattice field theory with strong commitment to working at the interface between supercomputing, field theoretical methods, beyond standard model physics and possibly cosmology. The candidate is expected to start his position in January 2010.

The successful candidate should be an extremely dynamical, analytically minded individual and highly skilled in supercomputing environments.

We have the best supercomputer resources in Denmark which are dedicated to the project Origin of Mass on Supercomputers and also have very strong collaborations with relevant groups of scientists in the UK and the US.

Currently, we are world leaders in models of dynamical breaking of the electroweak symmetry, its phenomenological consequences and on the phase diagram of non super symmetric gauge theories of fundamental interactions. The intention is to maintain this international lead.

We also expect several additional openings at the permanent associate professor level in particle physics phenomenology within the next five years.

CP3-Origins will be an extremely dynamical and exciting working environment.

Assistant professors may, should they wish to, agree on transition to a tenured appointment after the three year period. Such an agreement presupposes that the future associate professor (i) has completed the faculty’s course on theory of education for assistant professors or a similar formal theoretical education and (ii) has been assessed professionally qualified at the level of associate professor as a minimum.

Application, salary, etc.:

Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Applications will be assessed by an expert committee, please select assessment form. It is advisable that you relate your application to the questionnaire. Applicants will be informed of their assessment by the university.

The application must include the following:
• A curriculum vitae.
• A full list of publications.
• Copies of all publications on which the applicant wishes to be evaluated.
• A brief survey of the applicant's most important research results and research plans for the next three years.
• At least three letters of recommendation.

All enclosures must be numbered, state the applicant's name, and be collected in sets.

The University encourages all interested persons to apply, regardless of age, gender, religious affiliation, or ethnic background.

Please send the application marked &quotosition No 09315" including enclosures by e-mail to pers@sdu.dk or, if that is not possible, by regular mail in three copies to the below address.

Since not all members of the appointment committee are Danish-speaking, it is recommended that your application is submitted in English.
