In the following pages are some Danish terms, and their English equivalents, to help you get through some of the things that might come up when first moving to Denmark, and Randers. While you will want to learn the language after you move here (if not a little before your move), in the beginning it’s vital to know what important documents are referring to, how to find things in the grocery store, and other, more immediate details. We try to provide some of that here. These lists are not comprehensive, but they will at least give you a little help as you get settled. The lists start with common Housing Terms, to cover general information in rental or purchase agreements. Then there are some Tips for Dealing with Hard Water, as Denmark’s water (while very clean and safe straight out of the tap) is also considered very hard, as it has a lot of calcium in it.
