The Danish Consul General of Shanghai, Mr Karsten Ankjær Jensen, was invited to a seminar held by Haiyan County in Zhejiang province in order to share the General Consulate’s expertise in supporting Danish entrepreneurs and companies in Shanghai and the regions surrounding it.
The main goal of the seminar was to promote Haiyan as a business friendly county for Danish companies in the region. Haiyan, located 120 kilometres South East of Shanghai by the sea, already hosts the Danish company Danfoss.
The cooperation between Danfoss and Haiyan government has been particularly good and productive. From both sides there has been a wish to promote a greater Danish footprint in the county to create synergy and deepen the cooperation.
The Royal Danish General Consulate in Shanghai is happy to support initiatives like this.
”Many Danish companies in China are looking to expand or relocate in China. Haiyan and the Zhejiang province have proven to be a very good place for Danish companies to prosper, and that is why we are supporting this event,” says the Consul General.
“Having clusters of Danish companies in a friendly environment create Danish-Danish and Danish-Chinese synergy. That is a win-win for both the companies and the Chinese community. But it is also a win for the Danish economy when Danish companies do well in China. And Haiyan strives to make that easier to achieve.”
A number of guests and speakers were present at the seminar, including the party secretary of the Communist Party of China in Haiyan, Ms Shen Xiaohong, Vice Mayor of Haiyan county, Ms Shen Quansheng, and Vice director of Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM), Mr Qu Qian.
The General Consulate had invited eight Danish companies to take part in the seminar in order to gain knowledge about the possibilities and advantages that Haiyan County have to offer.
