[size=1.154em]Danish Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen, opened the first Denmark-Chengdu Water Day at the Nordic International Management Institute in the Sichuan Province.

The purpose of Denmark-Chengdu Water Day is to open the Sichuan water market for Danish water technology, making the event a concrete initiative to supplement the Danish Minister of Trade and Investments recent strategy of increasing export of Danish water technology in emerging markets. Danish participants included AVK, DHI, Grundfos, Krüger and Novozymes.

Denmark Water Day is a concept first introduced in Chongqing, 2008. The main objective is to set the framework for quality business-to-business meetings, in addition of being informative, through presentations from key stakeholders.

The Ambassador expressed; “China and Denmark face a number of global challenges which call for strengthened cooperation for mutual benefit. Water treatment is one of those challenges, and with Denmark-Chengdu Water Day, Denmark and the Sichuan Province takes the first step to proactively solve the water challenges we face.”
