From June 19 to June 22 the Danish Parliamentarian Ombudsman, Mr. Jørgen Steen Sørensen, paid an official visit to China. During the visit the Ombudsman signed cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Supervision and the State Bureau of Letters and Calls and met with Mr. Huang Shuxian, Minister of Ministry of Supervision and Ms. Shu Xiaoqin, director of State Bureau of Letters and Calls.
The visit and the signing of the cooperation agreements were the culmination of an on-going contact through a ten year period. Most recently, delegations from the Ministry of Supervision and the State Bureau of Letters and Calls visited Denmark in the Autumn 2012 and January 2013 respectively. These visits have led to the recently completed visit to China.
The two cooperation agreements are broadly drafted, and in the near future the institutions will start planning the further cooperation, including defining the exact themes of cooperation and time schedules.

The Ombudsman also visited the Chinese Academy of Discipline Inspection and Supervision where he gave a lecture on the Scandinavian Ombudsman system and answered questions.
In addition, Mr. Jørgen Steen Sørensen also paid a visit to China Academy of Governance where he met Mr. He Jiacheng, Execeutive Vice President of China Academy of Governance, and discussed the potential for future dialogue and cooperation.
