DMI is looking for a scientist to work with research, development and validation of atmosphere measurement using the GPS satellites.

Field of activity
The research activities at DMI are focused towards weather, climate and ocean. An important part is remote sensing and at the research department at DMI we develop new methods of remote sensing. In particular the radio occultation (RO) method using the signals from the GPS satellites.

DMI is the leader of the GRAS Satellite Application Facility (GRAS SAF), which specialise in the applications of GPS RO data. The GRAS SAF is responsible for near real time production and dissemination of the RO data from the European satellite MetOp. Data are used for numerical weather prediction as well as climate monitoring. The work in this new position consists of research and method development for the GPS RO data and related validation.

Qualifications
We expect that you are a trained researcher with either a master or PhD degree in physics, geophysics or similar areas. It is important that you have an interest in climate and atmosphere physics with aim towards applied sciences and that you have good skills in collaboration as the work is done in a team. At the same time you most also be able to work independently on specific tasks. Good skills in written and oral English are a prerequisite.
