As of April 16th 2012 Finland resumes the handling of visa applications for Denmark in Lima (Peru), Tunis (Tunisia) and Windhoek (Namibia).
In some countries where Denmark do not have a Mission or where the Mission is not authorized to handle visa applications, Denmark has entered into agreements with other Schengen countries, so a specific Schengen country can handle these applications. The system is based on representation agreements.
Some of these representation agreements have for some time been suspended including the agreements according to which Finland handles applications for Denmark in Lima, Tunis and Windhoek.
Finland will as of April 16th 2012 resume the handling of visa applications on behalf of Denmark in the three cities mentioned above.
Please be aware that agreements with Germany, France and Austria regarding handling of visa applications on behalf of Denmark are still suspended or terminated.
Denmark is continuing the negotiating with some of the Schengen countries about establishing new agreements or that some countries can resume to the earlier agreements.
It is still very important that visa applicants and/or their references in Denmark consult the “List of representation agreements” on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs webpage. The list will be updated with information about where Denmark has representation agreements.
