Trade Council organized international logistics conference in Chongqing

From March 26-28 the Danish Consulate in Chongqing together with China Logistics Club organized the first international conference for logistics and freight forwarder companies in Chongqing.
Logistics companies from more than 40 countries and more than 100 local enterprises took part in the conference titled ’14th International Freight Forwarders & Logistics Cooperation Forum’. The main aim of the gathering was to strengthen international relations and cooperation and create a platform for high-level business-2-business meetings.

Present during the conference were Vice mayor in Chongqing Tong Xiaoping, Director of Chongqing’s Logistics Council Mu Huaping and Danish representatives from Mærsk, Martin Bencher, VIA University and CLC Projects.

With its strategically important location by the Yangtze River Chongqing serves as the logistical centre for West China. This has been further emphasised by the construction of the new railway to Antwerpen dubbed ‘the new Silk Road’.

“Chongqing has improved its infrastructure significantly in recent years. Both railways and port facilities have seen an improvement. This conference has contributed in establishing an even better link between logistics and forwarding agents in Chongqing and the rest of the world. By taking part in the planning and organizing we once again show that Denmark is a pioneer country within the field of logistics,” says Consul Hans Halskov.
