Department
Vestas Control Systems A/S in Hammel is looking for a Category Purchaser for the Sourcing and Procurement, Category Management, Department. The department's responsibilities are to develop and implement global category strategies and plans, supplier relationships and cost reduction programs. Furthermore we lead the category management process in the category teams in order to support the sourcing and procurement strategy and Key Performance Indicators.

Responsibilities and Tasks
As a Category Purchaser you will play a key role in the department supporting Category Managers. You will work across categories and support between 2 and 4 Category Managers in their implementation of supplier initiatives. Your primary tasks will be to:

• Support Category Managers with collecting and maintaining master data
• Manage tender processes (RFIs and RFQs) together with a Sourcing Coordinator
• Provide Category Managers with general administration support to develop and implement the team's Category Plans and Objectives
• Follow up with suppliers (e.g. prepare and handle supplier scorecards) and internal stakeholders.
• Participate and in some instances lead selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting with suppliers
• Ad hoc support to Category Managers

Qualifications and Work Experience
You have got a relevant educational background - for example Business Administration, Economics or Commerce on Master or similar level. We expect that you possess a high level of theoretical understanding in relevant areas e.g. Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, ERP systems, etc. It will be an advantage if you have 1-2 years experience from a purchasing or sales environment.
In addition we expect that you:

• Have good cultural understanding as you will be working in an international environment across different cultures (Danish, English, Indian and Chinese)
• Are fluent in business English - both written and oral
• Have good communication skills, both verbal and written, as you are going to communicate with a broad group of different nationalities
• Are an experienced IT user, especially in Excel & Power Point (Microsoft Office)
• Are analytically strong and good at working in a structured manner as you are going to manage multiple tasks in a complex environment

As person we expect you to be open and honest in accordance to our values. You need to have a 'can-do spirit' and the will to work on new tasks. You are action-orientated, self-supporting and at the same time motivated by working in a team with a lot of different people from different departments and nationalities.
We expect that you have the ambition and ability to become a Category Manager within 1-3 years, depending on performance.
