Invitation for fundraiser at the Embassy

[size=1.154em]On occasion of the Danish EU Presidency the Royal Danish Embassy is organising a charity buffet dinner raising funds for cataract surgery in China carried out by renowned non-profit-organization Lifeline Express. Guest of honour is Ms. Le Aimei, wife of the Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Yang Jiechi.

Lifeline Express carries out thousands of cataract surgeries on Chinese people in the rural areas all over the country. In China children as young as 4 years old have cataract, and are thus not able to see clearly and live with the risk of eventually turning blind. Lifeline Express will be represented by Vice Chairman Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai Standing Committee Member of the National People's Congress and former Chairman of HKSAR Legislative Council.

The event will take place at the Embassy of Denmark on May 31 at 18.30. A minimum of 500 RMB per person will be collected by Lifeline Express at the Embassy. To sign up or make a donation please contact tobjen@um.dk .
