Denmark is on the verge of qualifying to the playoff to be in next summer’s World Cup after an impressive 0-1 victory against Montenegro last thursday, but to avoid further complications, need to finish the job in Copenhagen against Romania, a team with nothing to play for as they are with 12 points in fourth position.
Since the defeat last november away with Montenegro, many things have changed for Denmark, and now are in an eight games unbeaten run, winning five and drawing three. In those eight games they have conceded five goals but managed to score an impressive number of 18 and held Germany to a 1-1 draw in a friendly fixture.
After qualifying for the 2016 Euro, Romania is in the process of switching players and making room for the new generation, and this group they defeated the weakest teams, but struggled on the road and against the strongest ones. They have only won one of the eight away games played after the Euro, against Armenia, and couldn’t score a single goals in three of them, as a matter of fact, those are three of the last four played in all competitions.
Denmark has only lost one of the last nine played in all competitions at home, scoring 23 and conceding only six, so we expect them to get a comfortable victory here to secure their playoff spot.
