1503 Procurement Category Manager – Mechanical components

Form and drive our category strategy for our important and innovative mechanical componentsThe job In our product category strategies we describe and analyze the journey of our hearing aids from the past to the future. As part of a team of category managers, your overall task will be to develop the strategy covering this journey for our important mechanical components. In close cooperation with our development teams you will coordinate and make sure that the components in the product category are optimized for the future needs faced by our supply chain. You will coordinate activities across internal and external functional boundaries, securing that our upstream supply chain is aligned with our downstream supply chain requirements. This includes a continuous optimization of the product category securing early supply chain involvement in new component developments. In addition, you will develop and maintain a supplier portfolio with the right competences and technology for supporting tomorrow’s innovative hearing aid components. Focus on end customer value, supply risk and total cost minimization will be a natural part of every decision you make or promote. You will be working in a team of 6 category managers, where you and two others will be located in our innovative environment at the Oticon headquarters in Smørum. This team is a part of the global purchasing team operating from Smørum (Denmark), Shenzen (China),  Mierzyn (Poland) and Thisted (Denmark), from where the head of Purchasing and the main part of the Operation and  Purchasing organization is situated.Responsibilities and tasks Manage and maintain strategy for product category Participate in new development projects Maintain and develop supplier relationship Develop and implement new intelligent logistic solutions Negotiate global supply contracts You will ensure that selected suppliers satisfy our demands in relation to technology, price, quality and delivery performance, and you will be responsible for contract agreements, price negotiations and ongoing logistical improvements.Qualifications and qualities You have a technical/commercial background with experience in category management or strategic purchasing You find it natural to plan and communicate at all levels inside and outside the organisation You understand the importance of ensuring supply security You communicate well in written and spoken Danish and English As part of your job is to establish internal and external connections, you have an outgoing personality and are able to create strong relations. You must possess the drive to get results individual and in collaboration with others. Sometimes the job requires persistency, so you do not easily give up. As your manager has his base in Thisted, you are also able to work independently.
