Important information about limited registration to others than medical doctors and dentists
04 April 2014
If you have been informed before 14 May 2013 that you can obtain limited registration to a probationary appointment of 6 months, please note that new rules for probationary appointments have become effective.
In May 2013, new rules came into force about Danish registration of certain healthcare professionals who are citizens of and/or educated in countries outside the EU/EEA, cf. executive order no. 478 of 10 May 2013 (in Danish).
Pursuant to section 10 of this executive order, prosthetists, orthotists, bioanalysts, occupational therapists, chiropodists, physiotherapists, midwives, chiropractors, clinical dieticians, clinical dental technicians, contact lens opticians, opticians, optometrists, radiographers, social and healthcare assistants, nurses and dental hygienists, who have been informed that they can obtain limited registration to a probationary appointment, can complete the probationary period under the previous rules until 15 May 2014. After 15 May 2014, you can only obtain permanent registration if you meet all the requirements of the new executive order.
Consequently, if you have been informed before May 2013 that you can obtain limited registration to a probationary appointment of 6 months and plan to start the employment period now, you will not be able to complete the period before 15 May 2014. So you have to apply for registration under the new rules. To do so, send an email to the Danish Health and Medicines Authority with your name, date of birth and your case number and inform us that you want to apply under the new rules.
Please send your email to the Danish Health and Medicines Authority, Education & Registration at efua@sst.dk. We will then inform you about how the new rules affect your registration procedure.
