Experience Copenhagen through the historical festival "Body Performances", inviting you inside the city's cultural institutions for a festival about the culture of the body. Throughout time humans have concerned themselves with the fascinating body in art, narratives, dreams - and in rituals, struggle and pleasure. In the festival the body unfolds in a broad program: Experience Body Performances in the museum, on stage and in debates. Following is a selection from the programme:

Exhibition: Body and Tradition
In Statens Museum for Kunst, Denmarks greatest art museum, you can experience the to date largest exhibition by the Danish painter Nicolai Abildgaard (1743 - 1809), whose art is about the relationship to tradition and ways in which to portray the body.

Exhibition: LGBT in Copenhagen
Copenhagens very own museum, Københavns Bymuseum, located on the enchanting and vibrant Vesterbro, features an exhibition about the history of homo, bi and transsexuality in Copenhagen. See the history about immoral behaviour on the dark rampart areas surrounding the historical centre of the city and confetti-strewing Pride Parades in Cityhall Square.

Concert: Classy Mondays
Experience an innovative concert where you will feel the music directly on your own body. Concert featuring The Danish String Quartet at the Royal Danish Music Conservatory.

Monday September 14th 7.30 PM.

Admission: 50 DKK

Performance: W [doubleyou]-Undertow
At the national museum, Statens Museum for Kunst, you can experience a dance installation with the Danish dancetroup Granhøj Dans.
