1007 Senior researcher - Head of research unit

At The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aarhus University, Departmentof Food Science, a position as senior researcher (head of researchunit) in the research unit of Milk and Egg Science is vacant to befilled as soon as possible. The research unit consists of 27 employees.

Tasks

Conduct of personnel management of the research unit
Responsible for achievement of goals
Participation in the department management group
External representation of the research unit
Development of research and teaching strategies at unit and department levels
Conduct of project management for research projects
Applications for new projects
Guidance of students and PhD students
Teaching to a lesser extent

Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:

A relevant academic degree from a university or an institution of higher education
A PhD degree or similar scientific qualifications
Knowledge of and experience with research within food science
A considerable number of publications and preferably experience with national dissemination of scientific results
Experience with personnel management and be a good motivator
Documented considerable experience in applying for research funding andbe interested in further development of the research unit of Milk andEgg Science to become leading within the research area

The area of employment is Aarhus University, and the place of work isthe Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Blichers Allé 20, DK-8830 Tjele(near Viborg), Denmark.

Salary and terms of employment
Salary and terms of employment are according to current agreement forstate-employed academics as well as the appointment structure of 2007for scientific personnel at universities.

A bonus will be paid regarding conduct of the function of head of research unit.
