Danfoss Power Electronics is looking for a Business Development Manager/ Product Manager to manage and grow the global customized drives business. The position is part of Danfoss Customized Power Electronics organization.
You will be responsible for the identification, qualification, business evaluation and contract negotiation of custom drive development opportunities with Global Key Accounts and Original Equipment Manufacturers. After agreement, you will work with the Project Management, Development Team and the Global Key Account Manager to coordinate activities and handle commercial aspects of the project’s design and release phases.

This position requires direct communication and involvement with all organizational levels of both the Key Account and Danfoss. A strong leader with an entrepreneurial and team-building mindset with the ability to work within a matrix management organization will be critical to success.

Critical Tasks/Responsibilities

Business Performance & Relationship Management
  • Develop relationships on all levels of selected Key Accounts
  • Develop recognition as a true partner to selected Key Accounts
  • Negotiate and close agreements with value creation mindset

Business Development
  • Identify opportunities for cooperation beyond existing relationship
  • Uncover customer specific needs and develop conceptual customized solutions
  • Validate final solution with customer in his field and application
  • Develop business cases for customized product developments
  • Negotiate and contract product development and supply agreements with high focus on risk sharing.
  • Work with sales force and Global Key Account managers to secure opportunities at additional customers

Product Management and Coordination
  • Coordinate strategic Danfoss activities (pricing, projects, quality, supply chain, accounts payable, warranty administration, …) with the Global Key Account.
  • Coordinate product enhancement / development projects with internal team and Key Account.
  • Coordinate and participate in training of key people at OEM

Other aspects
  • Fluent in English
  • 50 – 70 International travel days required

Basic Skills Required
  • Bachelor or Master’s in engineering preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years technical sales / marketing experience / product development
  • Experience with Projects sales as well as Product Sales
  • Experience in drives and control markets or similar applications
  • Experience with Project Management
  • Demonstrable Business development record

The position reports to the Director of Customer Relations. The position is located in Graasten, Denmark.
