Chinese companies are planning a real buying spree in Denmark, with a special focus on the Danish windmill business. This prediction comes from the international counseling firm, Evershed, based in Denmark.
"I expect a series of acquisitions in the windmill industry, which already have prospects for consolidation," says Nikolaj Juhl Hansen, partner in the counseling firm Eversheds, who is an advisor to the energy sector.
Nikolaj Juhl Hansen notes that subcontractors in the windmill sector have to establish production in China if they want to deliver products to the Chinese market, and that fact will force many companies to expand their production.
This expansion requires capital, something capital-heavy Chinese companies can deliver, and they have, according to Nikolaj Juhl Hansen, an interest in strengthening the windmill sub sector in China. The strengthening will include acquisitions abroad, and since Denmark is a global leader in the windmill field, Nikolaj Juhl Hansen expects significant buying especially in Denmark. |
