Job description
Are you our new Student Focal Point?

IBM is looking for a creative coordinator with a good understanding of human resources (HR) processes. The coordinator, Student Focal Point, must be able to create, implement, and maintain HR initiatives for our 300 student employees in Denmark.

The Student Focal Point manages the Student Network, in which all IBM student employees are members. The Student Focal Point receives help, opinions, and guidance from the Student Network steering committee, which consist of five student employees from different departments in IBM. The purpose of the steering committee is to create new ideas and initiatives. The steering committee also helps the focal point with the process of implementing the initiatives that are to be acted upon.

You will:
• Arrange and run the new employee introduction to IBM course six times a year.
• Create and complete a satisfaction survey for the student employees and their managers once a year.
• Arrange work and social events for the student employees to partake in.
• Create coherence between the student employees and IBM as an organization. In other words, listen to what the student employees’ wants and needs are, and communicate them to the top management of IBM.
• Create new initiatives that benefit job motivation and satisfaction among the student employees.
• Update the Student Network Web site.
• Work approximately 15 hours a week.
• Work in Lyngby, in Copenhagen (in Østerbro), and sometimes from home.

You are expected to:
• Thrive with being in the spotlight: You must enjoy teaching and speaking to a lot of different people. Therefore, it can be an advantage if you have experience as a tutor, but this is not a requirement.
• Enjoy managing people and completing projects.
• Be able to think creatively and find it interesting to solve organizational challenges.
• Have at least a few years left before completing your university degree.
• Have an interest in human resources management (HRM). You might specialize in HR at Masters level, have HR as an elective subject, or start the Masters program in HRM at Copenhagen Business School. You might also have a background at Roskilde University in organizational studies or at Copenhagen University in sociology or anthropology.
• Be fluent in both written and spoken Danish and English.
• Be able to handle many assignments and projects at the same time.
• Be able to foster networking among employees at IBM.

If you have an internship period as part of your education, you will have the opportunity to do your internship on location at IBM on a separate project.
