You will work withinthe areas health promotion, prevention and patient education. The Centeris a part of Steno Diabetes Center, located in Gentofte, Denmark.Within the next 6-8 months, the Center will grow to 15-20 fulltimestaff members.
The overall vision is to position Steno Health Promotion Center as aninternational leading R&D center. The focus will be on settingssuch as health systems, workplaces, schools and families. As part ofthe management team for the Steno Health Promotion Center you will beinvolved in shaping and executing the future strategy of the area.
Develop and manage a team of highly motivated researchers
The current explosive increase in the number of people developingdiabetes worldwide threatens health systems and quality of life formillions of people. Consequently, there is an urgent need to generateknowledge and to develop more innovative, democratic and effectiveapproaches to defeat diabetes and obesity.
As Team Leader in one of the three areas - health promotion, preventionand patient education - you will be developing and managing a unit ofhighly motivated researchers. Your responsibility includes settingtargets for the area and follow-up on deliverables to appropriatebodies of governance in close collaboration with the Director. You willgain a large contact base and will collaborate closely with relevantgroups at Steno Diabetes Center as well as with national andinternational partners.
Motivated leader with strong collaboration skills
You hold a master’s degree in education, psychology, design,anthropology, public health or a related area. Furthermore, you have aPhD degree or similar qualifications in a relevant area. You haveexperience with empirical research carried out in collaboration withpractice and are able to reach ambitious targets without compromising ahighly creative environment.
On a personal level, you are motivated to be successful, but notego-driven, and capable of achieving results in a small, highlycollaborative, consensus-driven team. Further, you are flexible, opento new ideas, ambitious and have strong coaching skills. Finally, youare fluent in English and maybe also in Spanish or Chinese.
