13/10 Assistant professor in Logistics/SCM at Aarhus School of Business

CORAL (Centre for Operations Research Applications in Logistics) affiliated with the Department of Business Studies invites applicants for a position as assistant professor in Logistics/SCM to take up appointment by January 1st 2010 or later.

CORAL provides knowledge to support decision-making and control for logistics and supply chain management in companies and other organisations. Our research interests include, but are not limited to:
 Inventory control in supply chains
 Mathematical programming applications in logistics
 Operations management applications
 System dynamics issues in supply chains
 Vehicle routing and distribution planning

The position as assistant professor is a three-year temporary position with an obligation to research and teach, including participation in the scientific development of the field. A strong research potential and good teaching skills are required. The assistant professor will have to follow an internal teaching skills programme. Applicants must have completed their PhD within a relevant area before taking up the position.

Due to the increasing internationalisation of education it is expected that the applicant is able to teach in English. However, in the general evaluation of the applicant focus is on the research qualifications and research potential.

The applicants will be evaluated by an assessment committee whose recommendation of each applicant will be sent to the person involved.

Candidates, who are found qualified for the assistant professor position by the expert assessment committee, may be invited for an interview and may be asked to give a research seminar and a test lecture. The committee is authorised to ask for supplementary material if this is deemed necessary.

• Full CV
• Copy of PhD certificate
• Documented information on research and teaching qualifications
• A complete numbered list of publications. Research publications and/or working papers on which the applicant wishes to be evaluated, should be marked by a * on the list of publications and must be submitted in hard copy. (A maximum of five research publications and/or working papers can be submitted)
• A brief statement of future research plans.

All application materials including publications etc. must be submitted in English. The application and attachments must be submitted in sets (without binding) in three copies by ordinary mail.

Closing date for applications is Monday, October 19th 2009 at 12 noon.
