Closing date: 2. November 2009

Location: Lyngby - Denmark, Oslo - Norway or Gothenburg - Sweden

We are looking for an experienced and visionary manager to head our newly formed Corporate Communi-cation & Knowledge Management Department. Your main challenge will be to merge two departments - the present Communication & Design Department and Knowledge Management Department - and de-velop them into a single, unified support function that delivers services at both the corporate and regional level.

Area of responsibility:
  • Develop and implement a corporate strategy for communication, design and knowledge sharing
  • Maintain and further strengthen COWI's brand
  • Further develop and implement a corporate communication and knowledge-sharing approach which supports COWI's global one company network as well as each of the company's six regions - Den-mark, Sweden, Norway, the Gulf, Africa, Central & Eastern Europe
  • Lead the newly formed Corporate Communication & Knowledge Management Department and related networks. This includes internal and external publications, the COWI Portal, COWI home-pages, knowledge management processes, classification systems, and campaigns and events
  • Facilitate a process of re-alignment of services and processes within corporate communication and design and knowledge management based on involvement of key staff.

Reports
Report to: EVP, People Relations and Responsibility

Reports from: Head of Sections Corporate Communication & Design - this department currently con-sists of 13 employees, and Knowledge Management - 5 employees.

Your profile:
  • Experienced manager from the visionary-strategic level You have developed and implemented strategies in corporation with middle management
  • A professional background in at least one of the areas: communication, design or knowledge management. You hold a relevant academic degree in one of the areas
  • Experience in working at a corporate level delivering services across regions in a global organisation
  • Experience with initiating and driving change processes at a corporate level
  • Strong communication and networking skills in relation to stakeholders, clients (internal/external) and employees
  • Excellent English language skills - both in written and spoken form. Proficiency with two or more Scandinavian languages also desired.
