Hey
When you purchase a second hand car (in denmark), there is no tax fee besides the price that the seller and buyer agrees on. The taxation in denmark is correctly very high (180%!), but it is added when a car enters into the country (so it is only relevant first time it is sold in denmark). This also means that if you import a used car from germany, where they are much cheaper, you have to get tax office to evaluate how much tax you have to pay for it.
BUT - when a car changes owner, you have to re-register the car to the new owners name, at the tax office. this costs ~300 DKK as far as i remember.
More importantly, when you buy a used car you must be aware, that if the previous owner took a loan to buy the car, and has not paid it off, the car might have "debt", that is then TRANSFERED to you, as you re-register it.
You can check wether or not there is debt in a car, on this website: http://www.nummerplade.net/
Just enter the licensplate or car serial number and check - its free!
Also - you can see the reports from its last mandatory services and how many kilometers it has driven. This can also tell you, if the seller is cheating with the Kilometer indikator!
I hope that clarifies, and give you some tips on how to go about buying a used car here :)
Best Regards
