We are looking for Head of Accounting & Controlling based in Shanghai (China).
As the Head of Accounting & Controlling you will be the "business partner" to the General Manager of Shentong JV as well as the Project Director providing quality & timely information for business decision making. You will be responsible for best in class accounting as well as leading the Budget and Forecasting business processes and to control, manage and report the legal entity view to Regional management according to trade laws and company regulations in order to provide early warning to ensure the delivery of committed results. Further a strong commercial background is required to support Senior Management Team in the bid process and any other Business Development activities to multiply the JV business model.
Additionally you will be responsible for the country finance and that will include the support of the management team in business reviews, all financial analysis, commercial control, support in understanding financial implications for decision to be taken, developing the Financial Strategy of the country by defining with the team the future scope of business with regards to Sales, Margins, etc. Further to ensure local and IFRS gap compliant accounting.
Key accountabilities include:
1. Finance Strategy
- Supporting the Regional Controller and regional management in business reviews, all financial analysis, commercial control of their particular site, and provide support in understanding financial implications for decision to be taken.
- Develop Financial Strategy of the site(s) by defining with the Business Leaders the future scope of business with regards to hours, value-added services, new business development, asset utilization and support its execution.
- Present a transparent financial situation to Regional management with good modeling skills.
- Provide early warning to allow accurate, timely information for business decision making
- Initiation, implementation and follow up of action plans and measures with respect to improvement of actual results
- Initiate regular business reviews, evaluation of risk & opportunities etc.
2. Financial controlling & Financial Governance
- Control and oversight of Service Line strategic plan, budget & forecast to ensure accurate monitoring of business developments
- Validation of actual results and ensures that major budget variances are quickly identified analyses and corrective actions initiated
- Support Project Director with commercial handling of all major projects (incl FX-hedging, assignment, and management of bonds and project insurances, cash and claim management, preparation of change orders and intercompany-contracts)
- Support Project Director in the delivery of Betterment targets (5% material cost reduction, 7% productivity increase, 3% customer claims, 3% supplier claims, 15/25% VO)
- Coordinate financial section of Management Operational Reviews (MORs)
- Presentation of financial results to the Management team.
- Support GM by leading regular inter-functional meetings tracking AR / AP / INV evolution
- Participate to sales plan review & support sales & procurement team activities
- Communicate early warnings and recommend corrective actions with respect to the issues highlighted to ensure delivery as per committed results
- Ensure OSC compliance & alignment to Bombardier rules and accounting policies
- Drive for and creatively contribute to improvements in business processes/toolsets
3. Projects
- Solid grasp of Project Controlling in a percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting environment
- Commercial Handling of Projects (including FX-hedging, assignment and management of Bonds and project assurance)
- Cash and claim management
- Effective change agent/manager in downsizing situations.
- Commercial support to the sales & bid team to optimize hit rate, secure flawless execution
- Support Senior Management team as face to the customer & potential clients
4. Accounting
- Set up and implementation of respective guidelines, tools, policies, systems & procedures
- Ensure local gap and IFRS compliant accounting
- Business partner of the auditor to prepare and support annual audit
- Handle VAT, income and other tax issues
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you posses:
· Chinese accounting qualification, Chinese accounting certificate
· University Degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering or Economics/or any relevant professional related qualification
· At least 5 years of work experience
· Highly developed understanding of Finance/ Controlling processes and tools
· Highly developed commercial skills
· Highly developed communication skills
· Experience in a similar responsibility, working in an international/matrixed organization
· Achievement orientation – drive for results and concern for quality and accuracy
· Proven Leadership skills
· Distinct understanding of management and operational sequences
· Planning, processes and organization competency
· Quick comprehension and analytical skills
